The Role
We are looking for a Senior Estimator or Estimating Manager who wants to be part of building a growing business.
With a strong pipeline of civil and infrastructure work across WA, this role will see you working closely with leadership and project teams to shape how we bid, win and deliver projects.
This is a hands‐on role where you'll have real input into tender strategy, methodology and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Review plans, specifications and scopes to understand project requirements
* Prepare detailed cost estimates, including take-offs and BOQs
* Manage tenders end-to-end, from pricing through to submission
* Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to build accurate and competitive pricing
* Review subcontractor quotes, clarifications and exclusions across all disciplines
* Identify scope gaps, risks and raise RFIs where required
* Contribute to methodology, programming and value engineering opportunities
* Work closely with project teams and stakeholders during the tender process
* Deliver multiple tenders to a high standard within required timeframes
* Provide clear handover and support to delivery teams post‐award
* Support and mentor junior estimators as required
About You
* 8+ years' experience in civil construction estimating
* Confident running tenders end-to-end and working through details independently
* Strong understanding of first principles estimating and cost build‐ups
* Commercially minded and able to look beyond just the numbers
* Comfortable working in a hands‐on environment with direct access to decision makers
* Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying preferred
* Competitive salary package commensurate with experience
* Option of a company vehicle
* Strong pipeline of secured work across WA
* Exposure to a diverse range of civil construction projects and scopes
What it's like to work at CATS
We're a relatively small team, so you're not just another number. Estimating sits close to the project teams and leadership, so you'll be involved in the full process and not just pricing in isolation.
It's a hands‐on environment where people are trusted to get on with their work, but there's always support there when needed. We're not overly corporate or process heavy, and we try to keep things straightforward.
Most importantly, we're growing, which means there's a real opportunity to step into a key role and be part of how the business moves forward.
