We have a role available for a Training Area Range (TAR) Caretaker in our Defence division. This is a permanent full-time position based at Tindal, Northern Territory. About the role You will provide continuous oversight and security of the TAR facility, ensuring its safety, operational readiness, and integrity at all times. This includes conducting thorough inspections, performing minor corrective works on an on-call basis, and maintaining effective communication with Defence through presentations and recorded outcomes. Your key responsibilities will include: Maintaining a 24/7 presence and/or being the point of contact (POC). Providing general oversight and security of TAR 24/7. Being available on an on-call basis to perform minor corrective works. Planning and delivering presentations to Defence and recording outcomes. Performing range inspections after every use to check for damage, vandalism or theft. Ensuring that the facilities are safe, operational and ready for the next user. About you Our ideal candidate will have: Experience in a similar role, or in security or facility management, with exposure to emergency response and minor repair works. Experience within the Defence sector would be highly regarded. Relevant certifications in facility management or security would be highly regarded. First aid certification (preferred). Valid driver's licence. You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
