The Historical Society of Cockburn - Supported by Cockburn Volunteer Resource Centre – Hamilton Hill WA
The Historical Society members are the volunteer custodians and guides of the Azelia Ley Homestead Museum and Wagonhouse Museum. They roster for Sunday opening 1.30-4.30pm and supervise the Museums for booked tours and school excursions (Mon-Wed).
Responsibilities
* Provide guided tours and information about the Azelia Ley Homestead Museum and Wagonhouse Museum.
* Support City of Cockburn events, such as High Tea and Spring Fair, and participate in various projects (ANZAC poppies, conferences and workshops, Heritage Festival Vintage Machinery Day).
* Contribute to ongoing projects including Davilak Ruins development & archaeology, and Wagonhouse & machinery development.
* Man the museums on roster, Sundays 1.30-4.30pm, and conduct tours when booked (Mon-Wed) (1 hr).
* Participate in informal gatherings on Monday mornings to discuss, dust artefacts, and assess latest donations of artefacts.
* Where possible, attend the Society's monthly meeting (1st Wed of the month, 4.30pm-6pm).
* Engage in training by working alongside others; attend workshops or talks on related subjects.
Time Required
Regular - more than 6 months. Man the museums on roster, Sundays 1.30-4.30pm, and tours when booked (Mon-Wed) (1 hr).
