**Your new role**:
Working as the Engineer Change Manager, you will facilitate and promote the development of DDGSPO Engineering Changes in accordance with the DDGSPO Engineering Management Plan.
**Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager you will**:
- Liaise with the DDG Portfolio Managers to ensure the timely and complete execution of Engineering Change activities onto the Hobart Class - ensuring that Engineering Change Proposals implemented comply with the requirement of the DDGSPO Engineering Management System.
- Track and report on the development and implementation of DDG Engineering Changes, primarily relating to Minor and Major Engineering Change Proposals and the implementation of Capability upgrades.
- Work in conjunction with the broader Engineering team to development and maintain the Engineering Change Program. Liaise with the Engineering Planner /Scheduler and the DDGSPO Maintenance to provide input into the DDG Annual Work Program.
- Contribute to the development of defensible budgets supporting the engineering activities applicable to the Engineering Change Program, Ad-Hoc tasks and subcontractor Fixed Management Services - as applicable to the Platform and Combat Engineering Portfolios.
- Liaise with the DDGSPO Configuration Manager to support the maintenance and completeness of the Configuration Management system.
- In conjunction with the DDGSPO Engineering Assurance and Configuration Managers, periodically review the implementation of the configuration management system to ensure that appropriate controls exist and are implemented around the delivery of an efficient and effective, risk-based, engineering service.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of requests for problem resolution (RPRs) and Problem Reports (PRs) within the CMT-U tool. Support the conduct of Class Configuration Working Groups (CWGs) to prioritises engineering change (with input and liaison with SCGRP), to control and develop the Engineering work program.
- Oversee and manage the Engineering Review Boards and Configuration Control Boards held periodically throughout the year.
- Take ownership of and maintain plans, processes and procedures relating to DDGSPO Engineering Change.
- Work with members of the DDG enterprise to oversee the development of interfaces between the Engineering Change and the DDG Asset Performance Group. This liaison should aim to demonstrate continuous improvement across the DDG Enterprise.
- Lead initiatives to minimize class cost of ownership, efficiently deliver enterprise activities and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of enterprise support services.
**About you**:
**As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural or similar) and satisfying the requirements for Membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia
- Relevant experience in Systems Engineering and Project Management within an engineering organisation
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
- Ability to negotiate with and influence internal and/or external stakeholders
- Sound communication skills - ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences is critical to this role
- Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel
- Proven problem solving and analytical skills and the confidence to seek advice when unsure
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and works persistently to exceed basic requirements
- Adapts readily to changes in task requirements and priorities
