Working with us
For 1 year you will receive an isolation bonus of AUD $3,500. If you stay for 2 years you will receive AUD $10,500, and for your 3rd year (and every year after that) you will receive AUD $7,000.
In your downtime, we provide 2 return airfares per year (including spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave; of which we offer 5 weeks per year with a 17.5% loading/bonus.
- Base salary ranges between $107,960 and $115,604 per annum (Midwife Grade 6, Band 1).
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.

About The Role
Mount Isa Hospital Maternity Service includes a Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) model as an option for midwifery care. MGP offers pregnant women individualised, woman-centred care with a named and known midwife who works with one or more midwives to provide care from early pregnancy, throughout labour and birth and up to six weeks after birth.
The Clinical Midwife - Caseload role provides expert clinical knowledge and clinical care for women and babies with a variety of health care needs and supports a safe care environment through role modelling and application of the principles of contemporary evidence-based woman and baby focused care, education, leadership, and portfolio management.
Requirements
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences as a Registered Midwife.
- A post graduate qualification or currently enrolled in a post graduate program in a relevant area of study is highly desirable.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
