About The Opportunity
Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is seeking a highly organised and proactive Medical Education & Support Officer (MESO) to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. This role supports the Directors of Prevocational Education and Training (DPETs) in delivering high-quality education and training for junior doctors, including interns and residents. The successful candidate will foster junior medical officer (JMO) wellbeing in line with the NSW Health JMO Wellbeing and Support Plan, while ensuring trainees are equipped to deliver safe and effective patient care.
To thrive in this role, you'll need exceptional time management skills, a calm and professional approach under pressure, and the ability to juggle competing priorities with confidence. You'll be responsible for managing payroll and rostering functions, maintaining HealthRoster, and liaising with key stakeholders such as HETI, the Medical Board of Australia, and medical colleges. Your ability to build strong relationships and provide reliable administrative support will be essential in creating a positive and supportive training environment for our junior medical staff.
What You'll Be Doing
The MESO – Junior Medical Staff will assist the Directors of Prevocational Education and Training (DPETs) in the development, coordination and evaluation of education for Network 2/Prevocational Trainees (interns & PGY2 medical officers). Working with the DPETs, the MESO will provide support to Prevocational Trainees as per the HETI framework and requirements. They will also ensure that JMO wellbeing is fostered in line with the NSW Health JMO wellbeing and support plan. The MESO will be responsible for the management and administration of the payroll of the Network 2/Prevocational Trainees at Bankstown – Lidcombe Hospital, including the development and implementation of payroll functions, updating HealthRoster and fostering positive relationships with medical staff, facilitating prevocational training, and communicating with agencies including HETI, the Medical Board of Australia, Medical Colleges, and other government bodies. They will work closely with the JMO Manager and provide administrative support to ensure prevocational trainees have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality and safe patient care.
