Sessional Kindergarten, Early Childhood Educator
Permanent Part-Time Role available - 10.5 - 28 hours per week.
At Lutheran Education Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania (LEVNT) we are passionate about providing quality education and care within a Christian environment to children attending our Services throughout our region.
St Paul's Lutheran Kindergarten is a community-based sessional kindergarten service offering funded programs for children from 3 years to school age. Located in Grovedale, St Paul's Kindergarten welcomes up to 99 children and their families per day. We also provide a wrap-around After Kinder Care program to support families in accessing their funded kindergarten program.
We are seeking an Early Childhood Educator (Certificate III or Diploma Qualified) on a permanent basis working a minimum 10.5 hours per week on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. The role will include additional hours, up to 28 hours per week across 4 days in total. More specific roster information will be shared at the interview stage.
Additional casual hours as available at two sites across Geelong.
The position is within our After Kinder Care program and funded three-year-old kindergarten program and does not require work during the school holidays.
The position is available for immediate commencement.
The Role
This role requires the successful applicant to work collaboratively with a team of Early Childhood Educators to deliver a high quality After Kinder Care program which adheres to the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework. The educator, alongside their team, will use the planning cycle to deliver high quality, innovative programs that cater to the developmental needs and interests of the children in their care. The successful applicant will build and maintain positive relationships with children, their families and colleagues to ensure a respectful, safe environment for all people who use and work at our service.
The role would suit a person new to the industry looking for experience in a high-quality sessional service.
Selection Criteria
* Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualifications (see page 46 of the Victorian Kindergarten Funding Guide for more information) minimum. 'Working towards' considered.
* Current First Aid Qualifications including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
* Current Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting training.
* National Child Safety Training.
* Knowledge of current Early Childhood Legislation and the National Quality Laws and Regulations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to positively, proactively and regularly engage with staff, children and families.
* Demonstrated skills to maintain a positive work culture and work within successful teams.
* Sound computer skills.
* Commitment to the Christian ethos of the Lutheran Church.
