**About the Opportunity**
As a Gym Officer, you will actively contribute to maintaining a positive and healthy community by designing and delivering, both individual and group, gym and fitness programs for people in detention based on assessment of their age, level of fitness, goals, and abilities. In this role, you will work 7 days out of 14 days, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm shifts, working every other weekend.

**What you'll be doing**
- Demonstrating and teaching body movements and skills used in fitness routines.
- Setting up and monitoring fitness equipment and ensuring the equipment is safe, clean, and in working condition.
- Managing and conducting fitness programs and activities based on detainees needs and goals.
**About you - Your ideal skills and experience**:
- Two years' experience in planning, managing, and conducting structured programs and activities for adults in a gym setting.
- Hold and maintain HLTAID009 Provide CPR and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificates with at least 6 months currency on the certificate.
- Maintain a current Working with Children certificate in accordance with the relevant state or territory child protection legislation (as required).
- Qualified to at least Certificate III in Fitness or equivalent.
- Be a current member of Fitness Australia or affiliated body; and be able to maintain registration.
- _This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a Federal police check as an essential selection component for this role._
