Field Service Engineer – NSW Territory
Role Overview
* Home Base: New South Wales (Sydney preferred)
* Coverage Area: NSW
* Travel Load: Around 80%, including overnight trips
* Reporting To: Regional Field Service Manager
About the Role
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys solving technical challenges, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer support. The Field Service Engineer will work hands?on with a range of advanced medical and aesthetic technologies, including laser platforms, optical systems, and RF?based devices.
You'll be responsible for commissioning new systems, performing routine maintenance, diagnosing faults, and ensuring customers receive reliable, high?quality service. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams such as sales, engineering, clinical specialists, and technical support.
The successful candidate will build strong relationships with clinics and practitioners across NSW, supporting specialists such as dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and key opinion leaders. Your work will directly contribute to customer satisfaction, system performance, and long?term product success.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver prompt, professional onsite service and technical support to customers throughout NSW.
* Install, test, and maintain complex electronic and electromechanical systems.
* Provide user training to ensure customers understand system operation and basic maintenance.
* Maintain accurate service records in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including complex or unusual faults.
* Communicate effectively with customers to manage expectations and maintain strong relationships.
* Work with sales and management to identify opportunities for upgrades, service agreements, or additional training.
* Report recurring issues, error patterns, or technical anomalies to management and engineering teams.
* Perform software and firmware updates when required.
* Complete documentation such as work orders, RMAs, logs, and expense reports in a timely manner.
* Support additional tasks as needed.
Skills & Experience
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; qualifications in laser or industrial electronics are highly valued.
* Experience working with high?voltage systems and precision optical or mechanical components.
* At least 3 years of experience diagnosing and repairing electronic systems; laser experience is a plus.
* At least 2 years of experience installing or maintaining electronic or electromechanical equipment in the field.
* Strong understanding of electronics, optics, and mechanical principles, with the ability to troubleshoot to component level.
* Must be based in NSW (Sydney preferred) and able to travel at short notice.
* Willingness to travel interstate and internationally for training or customer support.
* Excellent communication skills and a customer?focused mindset.
* Ability to lift up to 20 kg.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Experience in the medical device sector is an advantage.
* Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce is beneficial.
