Orthopaedic Surgeon Opportunity
This is a senior medical position for an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to work with the team at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital.
The successful candidate will be allocated to the department roster duties including but not limited to:
* Elective Surgery: performing operations on elective patients as required by the department.
* Trauma Theatre: participating in emergency surgeries as part of the trauma theatre roster.
* Orthopaedic and Fracture Clinics: providing consultations and treatment to patients requiring orthopaedic care.
* Daily Ward Rounds: visiting patients on the wards and reviewing their progress.
* On-call Roster: being available for on-call duties as required by the department.
* Teaching and Support of Registrar Team: providing guidance and support to registrars within the department.
Mandatory Requirements Include:
* Providing admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and on-call services as determined by the employer.
* Attending and being available during rostered work hours and whilst on-call.
* Providing education and research opportunities as determined by the employer.
* Having Fellowship, Royal Australian College of Surgeons (Orthopaedic Surgery) and/or specialist registration with AHPRA.
* Having recent and comprehensive experience in Orthopaedic Surgery.
* Ability to assist other staff, including trainees in the acquisition and development of knowledge.
* Skilled communication skills, including oral and written skills.
* Ability to network and operate within an interdisciplinary framework.
* Flexibility and ability to cope with a changing health system.
* Previous leadership and management experience and previous safety and quality improvement activities.
* Continued professional development, peer review and other forms of clinical governance.
* Contributions to improving individual and societal health.
