LikeMind Penrith & Seven Hills, led by Uniting, is a welcoming and accessible community hub that brings together mental health, drug and alcohol, primary care, and vocational/employment services under one roof. Its purpose is to provide wrap-around, recovery-oriented support for people experiencing mental health concerns, along with their families and carers. By integrating services in a central and engaging space, LikeMind ensures consumers receive holistic care tailored to their mental, physical and psychosocial needs.
Formally commencing in September 2025, LikeMind has transitioned to an amended service delivery model consisting of a closer partnership with NBMLHD and WSLHD. LikeMind in Western Sydney may only accept referrals from NBMLHD or WSLHD.
Role Overview
As a Senior Clinician, you will:
- Provide comprehensive mental health assessments, including mental state examinations, risk assessments, case formulations, and initial treatment planning.
- Review comprehensive mental health assessments and inform the range of clinical interventions considered.
- Offer mentorship, clinical supervision and consultation to L2 or L1 clinicians within a multidisciplinary team.
- Work collaboratively with consumers, their families/significant others, and service systems to deliver recovery-oriented support.
- Participate in triage/intake of referrals, assess presenting concerns, identify risks, review supports, and negotiate appropriate care plans.
The role is central to improving outcomes in mental and physical health while promoting opportunities for education and employment.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications
- Approved tertiary qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy (or equivalent).
- Provisional or full registration with AHPRA or an appropriate professional body.
Experience
- Post-qualifying, minimum of full time 3 years’ clinical experience in a mental health field, preferably with adult consumers.
- Proven experience in providing primary mental health interventions, assessments, evidence-based treatment and case management.
- Substantial experience in acute mental health, including bio-psycho-social assessments, crisis intervention and short-term psychosocial treatment.
- Clinical leadership including supervision, staff orientation and mentoring; education, training, and provision of support to students on field placements.
- Contribution to multidisciplinary recovery-focused care planning and clinical case review presentations.
- Experience in service representation at relevant interservice clinical discussions or meetings.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
