As a midwife at Tamworth, you'll be an integral part of our team, supporting women and families through every stage of pregnancy, including antenatal care, labour, and postnatal care.
You'll have the chance to rotate through various clinical areas such as our Birthing Unit, Triage, Day Assessment, Caesarean Section care, Antenatal and Postnatal Unit, Home Visiting Services, and Antenatal Clinics – offering you a broad, hands-on experience and the opportunity to grow your skills.

Why Tamworth
Tamworth Hospital is the principal referral hospital for the northern sector of Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD), servicing a population of over 180,000 people. Our Maternity Unit cares for approximately 1,200 births annually and provides comprehensive services, including a 20-bed antenatal and postnatal unit, four birthing suites, two assessment rooms, and a seven-day Home Midwifery Service. You'll have access to our Midwifery Simulation Centre where we offer continued training, development and pathways and have the opportunity to attend educational days.
Located in the vibrant regional centre of Tamworth, the hospital is a teaching facility affiliated with the University of Newcastle and offers opportunities to work alongside clinicians involved in research, education, and innovation. * * Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
