We are seeking a motivated and experienced Data Cabler/Communications Technician with the ability to work unsupervised, a positive attitude towards learning, and an aptitude for expanding their existing technical skillset. A full-time position is available for an immediate start.

* Hold a current ACMA Licence with endorsements of Structured and Fibre Optics.
* You have a minimum of 2 years of industry experience within the communications, electrical, or security industry.
* Have worked on Certified Cabling systems such as Molex, Commscope/Krone, or similar, and familiar with the testing equipment.
* Competent with Cat6 and Cat6A cabling, having experience with fibre optic (SM/MM) and splicing.
* Having experience with PABX and security/CCTV systems, worked with PA and AV cabling.
* Have excellent safety awareness and meticulous attention to detail to maintain a high standard of workmanship.
* Can pass a security clearance check
* Hold a current driver's licence and Safety Awareness Training Certificate (white card)
Your duties will include:
• Install and maintain copper and fibre optic cabling for voice and data systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, ensuring compliance with Australian standards.
• Set up and configure IP-based telephone systems, CCTV surveillance equipment, audiovisual (AV) systems, and public address (PA) systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
• Perform comprehensive testing of installed systems using industry-standard tools, providing detailed reports and certifications as required.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in telecommunications systems, including legacy and modern setups, to minimize downtime and maintain service quality.
• Interpret technical plans and collaborate with clients to ensure installations meet their specific needs and expectations.
• Travel to various job sites across Cairns and remote areas of Far North Queensland, as needed, to deliver services and support.
