The role of Foster Care Recruitment & Retention Officer is pivotal in promoting Foster Care at Wathaurong and facilitating the recruitment and training of potential Aboriginal Foster Carers.
This position will work to develop Wathaurong's capacity to recruit and retain Aboriginal Foster carers using the Step-by-Step process, enhancing our ability to provide quality services to families and young children.
About You
* Demonstrated experience in working with and understanding the development and therapeutic needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, showcasing a deep respect for their culture and community.
* A thorough understanding of the social, physical, economical, and cultural strengths and challenges affecting Aboriginal communities, enabling you to access and leverage available resources effectively.
* Relevant qualification (or working toward) in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related area, as well as experience providing support services to families and young children, making you an ideal candidate for this role.
