Location: Abcare Healing Centre – Coffs Harbour or Grafton
Salary: Attractive salary package negotiable based on qualifications and experience, includes annual salary, employer's contribution to superannuation, and annual leave loading. A $16,000 per annum tax-free component is included.
About Us: Abcare is a not-for-profit community-based Aboriginal organisation incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act, 1984 (NSW). We are primarily funded by the NSW Community Services and Australian Government, dedicated to providing high-quality clinical services and support to the Aboriginal community.
Position Overview: The psychologist or provisional psychologist will join a supportive clinical team providing therapeutic care to children and young people. The successful applicants will receive ongoing support with registration costs, training, and supervision as required for the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide individual therapy for children and young people.
* Provide psychoeducation and support to families.
* Maintain professional knowledge including trauma-informed practice.
* Participate in ongoing professional development.
* Participate in peer case discussions.
* Maintain case notes.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
* Registration as a psychologist or provisional psychologist in Australia.
* Desire to work as part of a collaborative team.
* Ability to provide assessment and case formulation for children and young people.
* Therapy skills appropriate for use with children and young people.
* Ability to maintain case notes and complete letters and reports.
* Respect for Aboriginal culture.
* Computer skills and ability to provide accurate reports and case notes
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills
* Understanding of Workplace Health & Safety
* Drivers licence
DESIRABLE:
* Experience in Out of Home Care
* Desire to collaborate with researchers and key research stakeholders.
