A respected community‐based youth organisation and recently recognised Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) is seeking a values‐driven and community‐connected CEO to lead the organisation into its next chapter.
For more than 30 years, the organisation has supported local young people through culturally safe programs, community engagement, outreach, food initiatives, and youth support services. Today, the organisation continues to play a critical role in creating safe spaces for young people, strengthening community connection, and supporting positive outcomes for young people and families.
As the organisation continues strengthening its identity and leadership as an ACCO, there is a strong desire to appoint a First Nations leader who brings deep cultural understanding, authentic community connection, and a commitment to Aboriginal self‐determination and community‐led practice.

About the Role
Reporting to the Management Committee, the CEO will provide strategic and operational leadership across the organisation, overseeing programs, partnerships, funding, governance, community engagement, and organisational sustainability.
This is a hands‐on executive leadership opportunity suited to someone looking to step into, or further develop within a CEO‐level role in the community sector.
The successful candidate will work closely with a passionate team and engaged Management Committee while helping shape the future direction and growth of the organisation.
* Providing strategic leadership and organisational oversight
* Building strong relationships with Aboriginal families, Elders, community leaders, stakeholders, and funding bodies
* Strengthening the organisation's position as a community‐led ACCO
* Leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team across programs and operations
* Driving funding growth through philanthropy, grants, partnerships, and fundraising initiatives
* Managing relationships with government stakeholders including DCJ
* Ensuring culturally safe, high‐quality, and responsive youth services
* Overseeing governance, compliance, reporting, and financial sustainability
* Representing the organisation across community and sector networks
About You
We're seeking a collaborative and authentic leader with strong community engagement capability and a genuine passion for supporting young people and communities.
You may currently be working in a management or senior operational leadership role and looking for the opportunity to step into an executive leadership position with the support of an experienced Management Committee.
* Leadership experience within youth services, community services, ACCOs, and/or the not‐for‐profit sector
* Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, community engagement, and culturally safe practice
* Demonstrated experience building respectful relationships with Aboriginal families, Elders, and communities
* Experience managing programs, teams, and organisational operations
* Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership‐building capability
* Experience with grant writing, funding applications, philanthropy, and/or fundraising
* Financial management and reporting capability
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* A collaborative, approachable, and values‐driven leadership style
The Opportunity
* Full‐time permanent role based in Sydney's Inner West
* SCHADS Award Level 8.1
* Salary circa $129,210 + super + salary packaging
