Design and deliver digital systems and data solutions that drive Tasmania's circular economy and transform resource recovery operations.
About the role
As Digital Systems and Data Specialist you will lead the digital transformation across the Waste and Resource Recovery Business Unit. You'll design, build and continuously improve modern digital systems, reporting and automation that underpin Tasmania's Waste Data Strategy.
Working within the Business Improvement, Data and Systems Branch, you'll partner closely with operational teams and ICT to modernise how data is collected, managed and used. Leveraging Microsoft Power Platform and other Microsoft products, you'll streamline workflows, improve data integrity and deliver transparent, future‐ready systems that support evidence‐based decision‐making at all levels, including senior leaders, the Board and the Minister.
This is a hands‐on specialist role with real impact, combining solution design, data analytics, stakeholder engagement and capability building.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Period of appointment
2 years.
* A tertiary qualification in information systems, computer science, data analytics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in digital system development and analytics.
* Experience supporting implementation of digital or data transformation initiatives within a government or complex organisational environment.
* Relevant Microsoft Certifications such as PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst), PL-200 (Power Platform Functional Consultant) or PL-400 (Power Platform Developer).
* Qualifications and/or experience in modern project management methodologies, including planning and delivering digital initiatives with multiple stakeholders and technical components.
