St Kevin's Primary School, Cardiff is seeking a Permanent Part Time (0.3FTE) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Teacher to join the team from 25th May 2026.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The role of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Teacher is to provide support for students and the school community in curriculum, culture, spirituality, learning, and wellbeing. The teacher shares responsibility with all staff for the Catholic identity and mission of the school, promotes the Diocese of Maitland‐Newcastle's Reconciliation Action Plan, and collaborates with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to integrate Indigenous perspectives.
The teacher will specifically design and implement Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to improve outcomes and support pathways. The position reports to the Principal and works closely with classroom teachers, curriculum teams, wellbeing teams, ministry teams, and Learning Support teams. Duties may vary at the Principal's discretion.
The teacher will promote the school as a place of learning and excellence, applying evidence‐based learning and wellbeing principles, including digital learning, and ensuring the ongoing development and implementation of pedagogical practices. The teacher must meet the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
