About the Role As a senior Community and Stakeholder Engagement professional, you will provide strategic advice and guidance to Community Stakeholder Engagement (CSE) contractor leads, supporting the design, delivery and evaluation of stakeholder management plans that align with project and business objectives. You will play a key role in applying effective engagement approaches that proactively manage risk, enable meaningful participation and support informed decision-making. Acting as a key interface between internal teams and external stakeholders, you will help build mutual understanding, balance competing needs and support value-based outcomes. The role also contributes to maintaining Unitywater’s reputation through high-quality engagement, consistent standards, robust reporting and a strong focus on safety, privacy and data security. This is a permanent full-time role and can be based at either the Maroochydore or Mango Hill offices. About the team You will work within a small, collaborative team of infrastructure engagement specialists who are committed to delivering high-quality, people-centred engagement across Unitywater’s projects and programs. The team works closely with colleagues across the business and with contractor partners to ensure engagement is well planned, coordinated and responsive to community needs. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, shared expertise and professional integrity, the team plays a vital role in building trust with communities and stakeholders while supporting successful project delivery. To contribute to this, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role: Experienced engagement professional with a strategic mindset, strong interpersonal capability and a genuine commitment to effective stakeholder engagement Tertiary qualifications in community engagement, communications, marketing or public relations International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) Certificate (desirable) More than 8 years’ experience in community and stakeholder engagement roles Demonstrated capability working within a small, dynamic team environment Strong understanding of engagement methodologies and their application across programs and projects Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and collaboration skills Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and manage complex or sensitive issues Proven research, analysis and problem-solving skills, including the ability to synthesise complex information and develop practical recommendations Well-developed organisational, planning, project management and time-management skills Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment Current C Class driver’s licence Current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) Strong commitment to safety, privacy principles and modelling organisational values Working at Unitywater: We are committed to fostering a workplace that is diverse and inclusive, where you feel connected, are safe to be yourself and supported to be the best version of yourself.
