About the role
Accessible Living Homes is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team in Kilsyth, Victoria. This full-time role is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities, supporting them to live independently and achieve their goals.
What you'll be doing
* Providing personalised care and assistance to clients, including help with daily living activities, personal care, and community access
* Developing and implementing individualised support plans to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client
* Facilitating social and recreational activities to promote the wellbeing and inclusion of clients
* Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic support
* Maintaining detailed client records and following all relevant policies and procedures
* Actively participating in team meetings and ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge
What we're looking for
* A Certificate III or IV in Disability, or a related qualification in community services or healthcare
* Minimum 2+ years of demonstrated experience providing support to individuals with a range of disabilities, including physical, intellectual, and/or psychosocial needs
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities
* A valid driver's licence and the ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
* Australian work rights are required for this position
* Must hold a current Working with Children Check or NDIS Worker Screening Check
