The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Specialist Case Manager to provide a critical role at Corrections Victoria.
Specialist Case Managers (SCMs) are responsible for delivering high quality case management to a caseload of the highest priority sex offenders, under correctional supervision. SCMs will be responsible for ensuring that the nature of sex offender management aligns with best practice initiatives, including managing offenders in line with Corrections Victoria's Offender Management Framework.
The case management role will necessitate that SCMs demonstrate outstanding offender engagement and case management skills, including excellent motivational interaction interviewing techniques and establishment of relevant plans and reports.
In addition, it is expected that the SCM will possess excellent writing skills demonstrated through the ability to prepare Departmental and Ministerial briefings, general external correspondence and reports to key stakeholders. SCMs will also be responsible for the meticulous management of CCS offender files.
The position will be required to adhere to local or regional rostering arrangements and other staffing management practices as directed.
Some of your duties will include:
Effectively manage a caseload of complex, high-risk and high-profile sex offenders who are subject to Parole Orders and post-sentence supervision, to promote compliance with order obligations and promote behaviour change. Management of other offenders may also be required at times.
Promote and demonstrate a continuous improvement philosophy and model case management practices on best practice literature and research, engaging in effective quality assurance practices and procedures.
Apply sound professional judgment in the ongoing identification and assessment of individual risk, with a paramount consideration for community safety, escalating situations where necessary.
Contributes to the planning of appropriate community based activities and source support service systems and training opportunities for sex offenders.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in achieving client outcomes through advanced case management of overly complex individuals, including proven needs assessment and intervention skills.
Previous experience in working within a legislative framework
Qualifications
A relevant social degree or qualification is highly desirable.
Previous experience in working within a legislative framework (preferable).
