Database Administrator Role
We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server Production Support or Developer DBA to work on our team. This position is based in Western Australia and will collaborate with a group of Senior SQL Server and Oracle DBAs, with the opportunity to work from home when needed. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, support, and security of multiple SQL Server databases (both on-premise and cloud environments). Training in other technologies such as Data CyberSecurity, Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL will be available. Gaining key vendor certification is encouraged and supported.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor database system resources and performance to ensure they meet customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* Action customer Service Requests, and problem/incident management.
* Install, create, configure, upgrade, and monitor databases to ensure optimum performance.
* Evaluate, recommend, manage, and execute patching and upgrades.
* Manage database security and integrity, availability, backup, restore and recovery systems.
* Provide 24 x 7 Database Production Support as needed.
* Undertake customer projects as needed.
* Work effectively as part of a team, share knowledge with other team members, and provide guidance and advice.
Requirements:
* Strong experience as a production DBA supporting SQL Server database environments.
* Expertise in all major versions of SQL Server and associated technology stacks.
* Performance tuning SQL Server databases.
* Advanced skills in both on premise and cloud (AWS and Azure) DB management.
* Advanced skills in HA and replication technologies.
* Experience with Windows and Unix / Linux Operating System environments.
* Advanced database problem solving skills.
* Experience in database scripting, automation, and performance monitoring.
* Ability and commitment to working on call after hours as needed.
* Ability and willingness to pick up and apply new technologies.
