Rays Ski Shop, located in beautiful Myrtleford VIC is a retail and rental outlet where you can purchase or hire all your snowsports equipment and snow chains.
As a member of the Resort Services team, the Rays Ski Shop Retail and Rental Manager will lead the Rays Ski Shop Retail and Rental operations in a manner consistent with company values, policies, and procedures to achieve corporate objectives, budgeted revenue, and profit targets.
Identifying and leading opportunities for expanding the market share and implementing effective business strategies that will support revenue growth and improved profitability will be key to the success of this role.
Strong networking and communication skills and understanding of our brand and values will drive a culture of service excellence, provide effective staff support and elevate the guest experience.
**In a typical day in this role, you might**:
- Prepare budgets, reports and forecasts, control labour costs and overhead expenses in conjunction with approved budgets and/or as operational requirements demand and ensure these are reported to the Resort Services Manager in a timely manner.
- Oversee the entry, transfer, and movement of inventory so that the integrity of the Retail and Rental inventory system is maintained. Conduct stock-takes of all merchandise at the completion of the ski season and as periodically required to verify the integrity of the inventory system.
- In conjunction with the Human Resources department, manage the annual recruitment program for the Rays Ski Shop business unit, selecting suitably experienced rental and retail staff and supervisors with personal qualities that best align with company values. Establish accountabilities and relevantly delegate responsibilities to staff and undertake seasonal staff appraisals.
- Be a producer of Talent. Create an environment of continual improvement within your team. Act as a mentor, provide constructive feedback and deliver appropriate and relevant training to all retail staff with an emphasis on exceptional guest experience. Ensure that staff are made aware of their obligations regarding key policies and procedures and monitor and manage staff compliance.
**To be considered for this role, you should have**:
- Minimum three (3) years of equivalent retail and/or rental experience in the Snowsports industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of RTP POS and Inventory Management systems or similar operating system
- Staff management
- Broad business acumen
