Rural vacancy officer

Toowoomba
Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service
Posted: 26 February
Offer description

Supporting rural health starts with bringing the right people into the right roles, and this position plays a steady, practical part in making that happen. As a Rural Vacancy Officer, you'll coordinate the recruitment steps that help our rural teams stay staffed and supported, ensuring candidates and hiring managers experience a process that's organised, respectful and genuinely people‐centred.

What Your Day Will Look Like...

You'll work closely with rural management teams, recruitment services and external partners to coordinate each stage of the hiring process—from advertising and shortlisting to interviews, pre‐employment checks and onboarding. You'll prepare documentation, manage candidate communication, support visa and relocation processes and help monitor vacancy progress so recruitment stays on track.

Your work will involve building strong relationships, solving problems as they arise and keeping information organised and accurate. Every interaction—whether guiding a candidate, supporting a manager or coordinating with an agency—reflects the compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage that shape how we work at Darling Downs Health.

Let's talk about you!

* Compassion – you will engage with others and demonstrate empathy, care, kindness, support and understanding.
* Integrity – you are open, honest, approachable, equitable and consistent in everything we do.
* Dignity – you treat others with respect, display reasonableness and take pride in what you do.
* Innovation – you embrace change and strive to know more, learn more and do better.
* Courage – you respectfully question for clarity and have the strength and confidence to Speak Up.
