Human Resources Trainee
Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation (KNAC) is looking for a Human Resources Trainee (Nyiyaparli Identified) to join our Corporate Services team and support the delivery of HR services across the organisation.
This is an entry-level role designed to build skills and capability through structured on-the-job training and professional development, while supporting KNAC's operational priorities around recruitment, workforce development, compliance, and strengthening organisational culture.
This role is full-time (preferred), noting flexibility may be considered for the right candidate (e.g. 4 days per week).
You don't need to know everything already. Training, guidance, and ongoing support will be provided.
Location:
This role is based at KNAC's South Hedland office. Remote work arrangements and FIFO options will not be considered. Applicants must be willing and able to work from Hedland on an ongoing basis.

KNAC is the Registered Native Title Body Corporate for the Nyiyaparli People, with around 450 members. The Nyiyaparli People are the Traditional Owners of approximately 36,684 square kilometres of land and waters across the east Pilbara, including Jigalong, Parnpajinya, pastoral leases, and major mining areas.
About the role
Based in South Hedland and reporting to the General Manager, Community & Corporate Services, you will support a range of HR and administration activities while working towards a future career in Human Resources.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Helping advertise jobs and organise recruitment paperwork
* Booking interviews and helping keep things organised
* Updating KNAC's Human Resources Information System (Bamboo HR) by:
* Filing and keeping HR records up to date
* Onboarding new staff
* Running regular reports
* Helping with HR documents and templates
* Helping organise training and keeping training records
* General office support for the Corporate Services team
We're looking for someone who:
* Is a current member of Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation (KNAC)
* Is committed to undertaking structured training and development in HR
* Has strong attention to detail and an aptitude for administration
* Communicates clearly, respectfully, and professionally
* Is willing to learn and follow policies and procedures
* Is reliable and punctual
* Has basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Has an interest in completing a Certificate III/IV in Business or Human Resources
* Understands the importance of privacy and confidentiality
* Is aware of conflicts of interest and has the confidence to call them out when they occur
