An opportunity has become available for a Laboratory Technician to join the Quality team at our North Fremantle mill. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful applicant will perform routine testing of flours, wheats and bread premixes against standard testing procedures and support the Quality Manager in QA-related tasks.
- 7.00am - 3.30pm (M-Th) and 7.00am - 1.00pm (Fri)
**Key account abilities include**:
- Quality Control testing of flour & wheat products to documented methods and frequency.
- Test baking of products to documented methods and frequency.
- Recording and review of results against specifications; Ability to determine release/hold of product based on the review.
- Ensuring conformance to internal and external verification testing schedules.
- Generating reports/data analysis as required.
- Conduct appropriate testing to support investigations of non-conforming product.
- Issuing certificates of analysis.
- Effectively maintain electronic database of analytical reports.
- Liaising with other departments on quality related matters.
- Raise internal corrective action requests as required.
- Assist with investigation of customer complaints and process non-compliance's.
- Participate in the development of Quality and Food Safety training programs.
- Support the Quality Manager in preparation for customer and 3rd party audits.
- Participate in customer and 3rd party audits.
- Experience in Food Manufacturing / Production environment preferred.
- Experienced Laboratory Technician with some basic Food Science / Quality Control background will be advantageous.
- Basic exposure and understanding of laboratory-based testing methods and procedures.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team.
- Good investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (particularly Word and Excel).
- Internal auditing qualifications or experience highly desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- SAP knowledge highly desirable.
- Shift work may be required.
