Band 6 Salary Range: $97,245.14 to $105,466.60 per annum plus 12% superannuation. Maternal and Child Health (MCH) nursing qualification will be formally recognised as per the EBA.

We have an exciting leadership opportunity to join the Family Services department as a Team Leader Parenting Support.
About This Role
As Team Leader - Parenting Support, you will provide strong, values‐driven leadership to a multidisciplinary team delivering high‐quality parenting and early years services across the community. Reporting to the Coordinator Family Health & Development, you will lead the delivery of the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Program, Supported Playgroups and Parent Groups, ensuring services meet legislative, funding, and practice requirements.
You will work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to support families, promote access and inclusion, and strengthen outcomes for children and parents. A key element of the role is championing family‐centred practice while ensuring compliance with Council policies, child safe standards, and relevant legislation.
You will play a critical role in shaping service delivery through policy development, quality assurance, data‐informed decision‐making and innovation across Parenting Support services.
About You
You are an experienced people leader with a strong background in parenting, family, or early years services. You bring a collaborative, non‐judgmental approach and are confident leading teams in complex, community‐focused environments.
You will also bring
* A degree and/or diploma in a relevant field, or extensive professional experience in Social Work, Child Protection, Parenting Support, or a related discipline. Please Note: If the successful applicant holds a Maternal and Child Health (MCH) nursing qualification this will be formally recognised.
* Proven experience leading and supervising employees.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Enhanced Maternal and Child Health, Supported Playgroups, and parenting support programs, including relevant legislation, and practice guidelines.
* Strong understanding of and commitment to family‐centred and inclusive practice.
* Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with families, staff, partner agencies and government stakeholders.
