Dimensional Control Specialist




Job Description:


Austal Defence Australia is seeking a skilled Dimensional Control Specialist to lead program accuracy control management plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring proactive quality assurance activities are conducted to guarantee dimensional compliance with contracted quality requirements.




Key Responsibilities:



* Develop and implement dimensional control standards, working closely with stakeholders and subcontractor organizations.

* Collaborate with suppliers to ensure integrated approaches to managing accuracy control requirements.

* Ensure that dimensional control activities meet project delivery plans and the Austal Quality Management System.

* Lead proactive quality assurance activities to guarantee dimensional and accuracy control processes are consistently applied by suppliers.

* Monitor supplier operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution.

* Manage non-conformance processes, including identification, documentation, and resolution of issues.

* Provide regular reporting on accuracy control metrics and performance outcomes.

* Train and support quality assurance team members in accuracy control procedures.

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying technology and process enhancements.





Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you will need:



* Proficiency with high-precision measurement instruments.

* Effective communication skills to work with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.

* Diploma or higher qualification in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Quality Control, or related discipline.

* Minimum 5 years' experience in shipbuilding or an accuracy control role.

* Proficient in using measurement tools and software for dimensional analysis.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Internal auditor training (nationally accredited).
