Key Duties:
- Prepares surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying waterproofing membranes as needed.
- Removes existing tiles and surface materials if necessary to prepare for new installation.
- Measures and marks areas accurately to ensure exact tile placement.
- Cuts and shapes tiles to fit around edges, corners, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Mixes and applies adhesives to secure tiles on floors, walls, and ceilings.
- Installs various types of tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone, in residential and commercial settings.
- Applies grout, including epoxy grouting, and sealants, ensuring clean and even joints for a professional finish.
- Reads and interprets plans and specifications to follow design layouts and patterns.
- Conducts repair or replacement work on damaged or misaligned tiles.
- Follows all workplace health and safety standards, including the use of PPE.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven wall & floor tiling experience on residential or commercial projects (portfolio preferred).
- Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling (or equivalent) and a valid White Card.
- Skilled in cutting, shaping, and installing ceramic, porcelain, stone, and mosaic tiles.
- Competent in surface prep, waterproofing, adhesive mixing, and epoxy grouting.
- Strong eye for detail with quality workmanship and clean finishes.
- Ability to follow plans/specifications and work safely, independently, or in a team.
