Details: Join the team at Events ACT as an Event Officer and play a key role in bringing some of Canberra's most exciting events to life. We are seeking an organised professional to support and contribute to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of large-scale events in the ACT.
As an Event Officer, you will assist with project management tasks, including managing timelines, budgets, and reporting to the Assistant Director, Operations and Programming. You will be responsible for coordinating suppliers, managing volunteers, and ensuring workplace health and safety standards are upheld. Additionally, you will contribute to the preparation of operational plans, procurement processes, and contract documentation. Collaboration with various teams across Events ACT will be essential to maintaining positive relationships and ensuring effective communication.
We are looking for someone with experience in event planning and delivery or relevant transferrable skills. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and work effectively under pressure is crucial for this role. Strong communication skills and experience working in a team environment are also important.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
* Ability to work over public holidays, weekends and evenings during event periods.
* Driver's license C Class.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT and flexible start and finish times.
