Sr. Structural Engineer (Gigabay)
We are currently seeking structural engineers to serve as high-rise specialists supporting rapid development and build of Starship's next-generation vertical integration facilities. These facilities will ultimately enable the path to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
Responsibilities:
* Design and Development: Own structural engineering work packages for production site design and development, with a focus on integrated high-rise facilities.
* Project Management: Direct all field personnel to achieve project completion on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
* Safety and Compliance: Maintain a positive relationship with SpaceX end-users, contractors, suppliers, and other SpaceX employees. Ensure adherence to company safety policy and promote job site safety as a top priority.
* Collaboration: Interact with tradesmen, contractors, and building officials to coordinate and execute maintenance, repair, and installation of facilities support equipment.
* Communication: Communicate updates to budgetary, drawings, and design requirements to management and engineering teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline.
* 5+ years of experience with the design or build of structural infrastructure.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Design experience with steel and/or concrete high-rise design projects, including primary gravity and lateral force resisting systems.
* Exposure to high-rise construction projects, with a solid understanding of means and methods of construction.
* Experience with temporary stability analysis during construction.
* Familiarity with various types of steel erection equipment.
* Professional Engineering (PE) or Structural Engineering (SE) license.
* Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, such as AISC, ACI, ASCE, and IBC.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Must be willing to travel.
* Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Base salary range: $125,000 - $175,000 per year, plus comprehensive benefits package, long-term incentives, and potential discretionary bonuses.
