About the role
Black Dog Diesel is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Port Hedland, Western Australia. As a full-time Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of a range of heavy diesel civil, construction and mining equipment as well as LV fleet vehicles.
What you'll be doing
* Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing on a variety of heavy diesel equipment
* Organising your own workflow, scheduling, and job priorities on client sites
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on heavy diesel plant and machinery
* Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
* Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with relevant safety and quality standards
What we're looking for
* Formal qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or equivalent
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Current driver's licence and willingness to obtain relevant heavy vehicle licences
* Knowledge of relevant workplace health and safety requirements
