This is an opportunity for a driven General Manager to play a key leadership role in shaping and delivering that next stage.
Role Overview
The General Manager will lead the day‐to‐day operations and strategic direction of the business, working closely with the Managing Director to drive sustainable growth, operational excellence and strong financial performance.
The role has responsibility across sales, operations and administration, with direct oversight of key functional leaders and accountability for delivering the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive strong financial performance across the business
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting in conjunction with the Director
* Monitor and improve key business metrics including:
o Revenue and sales growth
o Gross margins and cost control
o Labour utilisation and productivity
o Job profitability and performance
* Manage cash flow and working capital requirements
Strategic Leadership
* Develop and execute the company's strategic plan in collaboration with the Director
* Identify and deliver opportunities for growth, including:
o Expansion of service offering
o Investment in new capabilities and technology
o Build a scalable and sustainable operating model to support future growth
* Lead the sales function and support business development initiatives
* Maintain and grow key customer relationships
* Drive pricing discipline and commercial outcomes
* Identify and pursue new market opportunities
* Contribute to marketing and brand positioning initiatives
Operations & Production Leadership
* Provide leadership and direction to production and operational teams
* Support fabrication and powder coating managers to ensure:
o Efficient production scheduling
o High quality output
o Promote continuous improvement across production processes
o Ensure systems and processes support scalability and efficiency
People & Culture
* Lead, develop and support team members across all functions
* Build a high‐performance culture aligned with company values
* Oversee recruitment, training and performance management
* Ensure clear accountability across teams and roles
Safety & Compliance
* Lead and embed a strong safety culture across the business
* Oversee safety systems, processes and compliance requirements
* Ensure all operational activities meet relevant regulatory and quality standards
Suppliers & External Relationships
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
* Negotiate commercial terms and ensure reliability of supply
* Work collaboratively with external partners to support business objectives
Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated success in a senior leadership role with full financial management responsibility
* Experience within a manufacturing environment (fabrication or engineering highly regarded)
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive profitability
* Proven experience in strategic planning and execution
* Experience leading teams across multiple functional areas
* Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
* Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline
* Exposure to fabrication or metal manufacturing environments
* Familiarity with CAD or 3D design tools (e.g., Solidworks, Fusion360, etc)
