About the Role
We have an opportunity for an experienced Store Person/2IC to play a key role in our WA Distribution Centre. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely picking, packing, and shipping of all orders. Additionally, you will provide supervision and support to the warehouse team stepping in to lead day-to-day operations when the WA DC Manager is unavailable. This is a hands-on role, requiring a strong understanding of warehouse operations, health and safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Your Day to Day Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
* Pick orders using RF scanner and follow all WMS procedures.
* Coordinate the delivery and pick-up of containers with logistics partners.
* Safely and accurately load trucks using a forklift.
* Participate in unloading containers, both manually and via forklift operation.
* Prepare freight for export, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
* Safely operate low-level order pickers, automated pallet wrappers, and other machinery.
* Label and pack pallets/orders in accordance with transport requirements.
* Liaise with internal teams, including Purchasing, Shipping, and Customer Service, to ensure smooth order fulfilment and communication on issues such as lost/damaged orders.
* Assist in maintaining equipment, conduct pre-start machinery checks, and report any faults.
* Uphold all health and safety protocols, including safe manual handling and hazard reporting.
* Manage consumables for the site and ensure efficient warehouse operations, including open and shut down procedures.
* Supervise warehouse processes from picking to dispatch and assist with stock receipt and put-away.
Your 2IC Responsibilities (in the absence of Warehouse Manager, or as required):
* Oversee day-to-day warehouse team activities, including leave management
* Supervise warehouse processes from picking to dispatch and assist with stock receipt and put-away
* Act as a secondary contact for warehouse-related projects and assist the WA DC Manager with additional tasks as required.
About you:
* Proven experience in a similar role with supervisory experience, ideally within a wholesale or bulk storage warehouse environment.
* Proficiency with RF scanners and WMS systems.
* Valid forklift license with experience in high-reach forklift operation and experience using EPJ's.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety protocols, including manual handling practices.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple internal teams.
* A proactive attitude towards safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement.
