System Administrator Role
As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting Linux/Unix technologies. Your key responsibilities will include undertaking maintenance and automation activities, encouraging continual service improvement of Linux/Unix operating systems.
* Provide support to various Unix/Linux systems and applications.
* Perform support tasks such as patching, troubleshooting, and triaging problems via escalation.
* Provide solutions that strategically harness the power of Information Technology.
* Support internal groups, customers, and third-party providers.
* Keep up-to-date with technological advancements and suggest improvements to systems.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and procedures by identifying opportunities for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake regular system checks to ensure optimal performance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.
* Develop and implement effective strategies for improving system efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT or Telecommunications.
* Vendor certification is desirable.
* Experience in Unix/Linux-based system administration (RedHat/Debian/Solaris).
* Experience with TELCO/ISP applications (Web/Mail/DNS/RADIUS/DHCP/LDAP).
* Knowledge of virtualisation, containerisation, storage, load balancing, and high availability.
