We are seeking a Senior BMS Control System / Smart Building Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on designing and delivering intelligent, sustainable, and mission-critical facilities that integrate advanced building technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience in converged networks, IoT-driven solutions, and innovative control strategies that enhance performance, wellness, and energy efficiency.
Base pay range
$125,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
* Lead BMS consulting efforts including project planning, resource management, and client engagement.
* Supervise and mentor project team members preparing control system design drawings and integrated specifications across aviation, critical facilities, healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial, and other complex markets.
* Prepare drawings, specifications, and perform system design calculations.
* Select equipment for building systems and provide technical reports.
* Support vendor selection and procurement by helping clients evaluate "best of breed" solutions.
* Attend and contribute to project and client meetings.
* Collaborate with MEP design teams, project managers, and discipline leaders to ensure seamless integration.
* Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality control.
* Maintain and update BMS processes, standards, and best practices.
* Support business development and client relationship initiatives.
* Provide performance management, leadership, and hiring support for direct reports.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
* 7+ years' experience in the HVAC controls industry (consulting, contracting, or engineering) with direct design responsibilities.
* Strong knowledge of HVAC/electrical instrumentation, building control sequence of operations, and integrated building systems.
* Familiarity with building IT infrastructure, low-voltage sub-systems (lighting controls, fire alarms, security), and smart building convergence.
* Experience with BMS, EPMS, DCIM, and SCADA systems design, implementation, and operations.
* Understanding of building analytics software platforms for anomaly detection, energy conservation, and system optimization.
* Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
* Effective team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus but not required.
* Involvement with ASHRAE, CABA, or related industry organizations is a plus.
