THE ROLE

DB Schenker is seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Inventory Controller to support and manage inventory operations across our logistics site. This role is essential in maintaining inventory integrity, driving operational efficiency, and delivering high-quality service aligned with both client and company expectations.


Responsibilities

* Inventory Management : Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all inventory, supervise product movement from receipt to dispatch, and maintain robust inventory control systems. Lead cycle counts, stock takes, and discrepancy investigations; continuously improve processes to enhance inventory accuracy and reduce costs. Maintain WMS databases, monitor KPIs, ensure compliance with WH&S standards, and support internal teams. Focus on team development, training, and performance management to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
* Planning Processes : Conduct ongoing and periodic inventory planning to ensure optimal stock levels and operational efficiency. Participate in site and client planning activities, manage labour resources to meet customer SLAs, and communicate with operations and customer service teams to resolve product discrepancies and oversee inventory movement. Review, develop, and implement processes and procedures that continuously improve warehouse functions.
* Quality Assurance : Perform quality assurance functions in line with standard operating procedures and customer contract agreements. Check for product anomalies to ensure inventory accuracy and assist in all periodic inventory activities to support overall warehouse integrity.
* Collaborate with finance to ensure chargeable revenue is invoiced accurately and on time. Maintain correct cost centre allocations and monitor daily financial activities within your area. Identify anomalies in costings, invoices, and financial data processes, and proactively seek opportunities to increase revenue or reduce costs, providing relevant feedback to your department manager.
* Management and Customer Reporting : Liaise with operations and account management teams to address client requirements and operational issues, including reporting, procedures, problem-solving, and analysis. Support the Site Operations Manager and Account Management by providing accurate and timely reports as needed.
* Other Duties as Assigned : Review all internally generated reports to ensure accuracy and relevance. Prepare ad hoc reports as requested, supporting operational and management needs with timely and reliable data.
