Strathnairn School is a new ACT public school opening in 2026, located on Ngunnawal land in the heart of the Ginninderry region. Designed to be inclusive, sustainable, and community focused, the school will initially welcome students from preschool to Year 2, growing to cater for students through to Year 6 in subsequent years. At full capacity the school could cater for up to 780 Preschool to Year 6 students, with an additional Early Childhood Education & Care (ECEC) service catering for a further 130 children.
Our vision is to create a vibrant learning community where children, families, educators, and the broader community connect, collaborate, and thrive. Strathnairn School will be a place where curiosity is nurtured, diversity is celebrated, and every child is known, valued, and inspired to learn. We are recruiting passionate and experienced leaders and educators to help shape our foundational practices and culture from the ground up.
In this foundational role, the Teacher Librarian will lead the creation of a safe, inclusive, and inspiring library space that invites students, staff, and families to engage in a shared love of reading and storytelling. They will establish the systems, resources, and routines of a new library from the ground up, curating diverse and culturally responsive collections, embedding literacy-rich experiences across the school, and fostering a welcoming environment where every child feels seen and every family feels connected.
