Where You'll Be Working
The paediatric Occupational Therapy team based at Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Hospitals is a patient focused, dynamic and supportive team committed to improving outcomes for children and their families in the local community. What You'll Be Doing
* The focus is on assessment and intervention.
* Working closely with families and carers to support goal setting and therapy planning.
* Using a developed Paediatric Occupational Therapy Model of Care.
* Providing clinic‐based service across Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Hospitals.
* Requirement for documentation on SDPR and report writing.
Supervision and Development
The role is supervised by the Department Head of Occupational Therapy and will receive orientation to the role and service from the Level 3 Occupational Therapist onsite. They will have access to essential mandatory training and ongoing professional development opportunities as identified through the Performance Development and Review process as well as regular clinical supervision. The position also sits under the broader profession framework with access to a Head of Discipline and Occupational Therapy network for connection with profession through in‐services and development days.
About You
The successful applicant will have experience working in a paediatric setting and demonstrate genuine enthusiasm and passion for supporting children and their families. They will bring a positive, engaging approach to working with paediatric clients and a strong commitment to delivering safe, high‐quality, patient‐centred care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong organisational and time management skills are also required to manage a varied caseload and competing priorities effectively.
Requirements
* Occupational Therapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
