One of our clients On Point Painting & Decorating Pty Ltd, based in Brisbane, QLD have a vacancy for experienced and skilled Painting Trade Worker to join their friendly team.
Qualified Painters are responsible for the preparation of surfaces and the application of paint and other decorative and protective systems on commercial and residential work sites. Ensuring that projects are delivered safely on time and defect free. Qualified Painters must represent On Point Painting in a professional manner at all times, follow instructions from site supervisors and coordinate with other trades on work sites.
Main Responsibilities
* Preparation of interior walls, doors, windows, and ceilings prior to painting.
* Application of paint, decorative and finish with protective finishes.
* Preparation of the rooms to protect furniture, floors and other items surrounding the area to be painted.
* Protect all close furnishings and materials before and during every painting job, including carpets, cabinetry, outlet covers, lighting fixtures, etc.
* Maintain a clean work area.
* Complete the inductions before commencing on sites.
* Ensures WH&S and site regulations are adhered to.
* Conducts quality and safety inspections.
* Read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.
* Monitor stock of materials and notify site supervisor in advance.
* Complete record keeping forms and submit to admin team.
* Attend site meetings.
* Discuss with customers colour pattern and finish options as well as other design details to best suit their needs.
* Paint interior and exterior of houses.
* Match paint samples for touch-ups and other small projects.
* Do the job on schedule, budget, and good quality.
* Complete Inductions before commencing on site.
* Get feedback with the customer after job is done.
Requirements
* Certificate III in Painting and Decorating
* Minimum 3 years of experience in painting/Trade work
* 1 Year of commercial experience. Venetian plastering and wallpaper.
Knowledge, Skills And Attributes
Knowledge - Knowledge of products, trends and practices relevant to position. Knowledge of commercial projects.
Skills – Trade: Brush, roller and spray application. Sound communication & customer service.
Attributes - Attention to detail, organised, awareness of surroundings.
Annual salary: $73,500 + superannuation
