The Role
This is a procurement-led role sitting at the core of how our projects run.
Your primary focus will be procurement, managing purchase orders, coordinating trades and suppliers, negotiating in real time, and keeping projects aligned as they evolve. You will also support the estimating function across approximately 12 custom homes per year, helping ensure projects are set up accurately from the outset.
Working closely with trades day-to-day, you will be resolving issues, negotiating scope, and keeping projects moving. Strong communication, commercial awareness, and a solid understanding of construction are essential.
What You'll Be Doing
Procurement (Primary Focus)
* Issuing and managing purchase orders across multiple active projects
* Coordinating trades and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
* Handling day-to-day calls with trades, negotiating scope, rates, and variations
* Problem‐solving when quotes don't stack up or site conditions change
* Working closely with supervisors to resolve issues and implement solutions quickly
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with trades and suppliers
* Keeping procurement aligned with project budgets and construction timelines
* Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and BOQs for custom homes valued between $1M and $6M
* Supporting budget management from concept through to construction handover
* Working with the design team during ECI and value engineering phases
* Reviewing plans and specifications to identify risks and cost considerations
* Using Buildertrend and Buildxact to support estimating workflows
What We're Looking For
* 5+ years experience in residential construction, procurement, estimating, or similar
* Strong understanding of custom home construction and sequencing
* Hands‐on procurement experience including purchase orders, supplier coordination, and trade engagement
* Confident communicator who can deal directly with trades and resolve issues quickly
* Commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, quality, and programme
* Experience with Buildertrend, Buildxact, or similar systems
* Someone proactive who takes ownership and gets things done
