They help with daily living tasks like personal care, mobility, and social engagement, focusing on promoting independence and well-being. Key Responsibilities:
- Mental Health : Requiring experience with mental health and able to give evidence.
- AOD (Alcohol and other drug): Need to have experience with supporting clients that have been affected but substance abuse.
- Social Support:Facilitating social interactions, attending community events, and helping individuals connect with others.
- Daily Living Tasks:Assisting with shopping, cooking, cleaning, and other household chores.
- Communication and Advocacy:Communicating effectively with individuals and their families, advocating for their needs, and ensuring their rights are respected.
Job Outlook:
- Demand for disability support workers is robust, with many job openings expected in the coming years.

Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015), AOD (Alcohol and other drugs), Mental health certificate, or Disability Supports, are often preferred by employers.
