Leading Hand Carpenter (Local to Karratha Only)

We are seeking a local-only Leading Hand Carpenter to join our Karratha-based team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in doing things properly the first time, supports others through calm and steady leadership, and prefers a consistent, well‐organised work environment.
As a Leading Hand, you'll guide a small team, coordinate tasks on site, and ensure workmanship meets Trasan's high standards. You won't be rushed, pushed, or expected to work reactively — instead, you'll lead with clarity, patience, and a methodical approach that builds confidence within the team.
Key responsibilities
Lead and support a small carpentry crew across residential and commercial projects
Perform detailed carpentry on homes, sheds, patios, and garages
Oversee refurbishments and structural modifications with care and accuracy
Read and interpret clear plans, drawings, and documentation
Plan daily tasks, allocate work, and ensure smooth site workflows
Apply methodical problem solving and maintain a safe, tidy work area
Communicate clearly with supervisors, clients, and your team
Ensure all work meets Trasan's quality, safety, and compliance expectations
Skills and experience Required:
Certificate III in Carpentry
Minimum 5+ years carpentry experience (including some leadership or mentoring exposure)
Roof Plumbing Experience
WA Driver's Licence
Construction White Card
Working at Heights Certificate
Ability to pass drug & alcohol screening
Strong communication skills — especially listening, clarifying, and giving considerate feedback
A calm, steady leadership style focused on accuracy and consistency
Desirable but Not Essential:
Light Truck Licence
MSIC / ASIC / Police Clearance
Experience working in remote or regional areas
Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and digital logging tools
