Job details
The ICT Operations Branch provides ICT support and underpinning infrastructure services to the department and the Ministers' Offices, ensuring all staff in the department and MOs have access to stable and secure technology.
The ICT Networks & Infrastructure Platforms section falls within the ICT Operations Branch. The Infrastructure Platforms team is responsible for the management of all data centers, virtualization, automation, storage, backup and restore capability. The team is also responsible for providing after-hours on-call support for the Department's on-premises infrastructure.
The team is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer who specialises in Automation and Virtualisation to support its objectives over the engagement period.
Key duties and responsibilities
The Senior Automation and Virtualization Specialist will be responsible for managing and developing the Department's Aria Automation, NSX, Aria Operations and Site Recovery Manager instances as part of the Infrastructure Platforms team. The person will be also accountable for maintaining and enhancing the Department's VMware vSphere, Cloud Foundation environments and server infrastructure (rack mounted and blade servers). The role requires producing design documents, build documents, operations documents, handover and sharing of knowledge with other team members and mentoring junior team members.

Candidates must be able to obtain, and maintain, a baseline clearance. If proposed personnel are eligible but do not hold a clearance, a process can be sponsored by the buyer. A clearance pack must be submitted prior to commencement, and the clearance must be obtained within the first 3 months of the engagement otherwise the services can not continue.
