We are seeking an enthusiastic and professionalTour Guide & Guest Experience Leaderwith strong maritime and customer service credentials to join our passionate team in Airlie Beach.
This role involves guiding guests on both marine and land-based tours, providing engaging interpretation, ensuring safety and comfort, and creating memorable adventures.
A minimum of 2 years of tourism or guiding experience is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Escort and engage visitors on sightseeing, cultural, and adventure tours
Deliver high-quality commentary highlighting the environmental, historical, and cultural values of the Whitsundays
Ensure guest safety and wellbeing, including first aid response where required
Operate vessels and assist with sailing, snorkelling, and onboard service
Planning and rearranging schedules and itineraries
Capture guest engagement moments, including in-water photography
Maintain accurate guest records and assist with logistics, scheduling, and reporting
Represent Iconic Whitsunday Adventures with professionalism and enthusiasm
Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies (first aid, O2, rescue readiness)
Work collaboratively with skippers, deckhands, and the operations team
Qualifications and Experience
Current Coxswain Grade 3 NC or higher (Master <24m preferred)
First Aid, O2 Administration, and Advanced CPR
Elements of Shipboard Safety and valid Seafarer's Medical
Strong safety awareness and commitment to guest care
Minimum 2 years' guiding experience in tourism or outdoor adventure
Fluent English communication and confident public speaking skills
Excellent interpersonal and organisational abilities
Strong storytelling and guest engagement capability
Bonus
Experience using FareHarbor, Hero, or Offshore SMS systems
Background in lifeguarding or swim instruction
Competency in sailing and snorkel leadership
Underwater photography experience
