Primary objective
Lead the development of impactful content to promote the school through a range of strategic approaches. Contribute and lead the
multimedia team in filming and producing engaging promotional and educational materials using a range of digital tools. Deliver
professional development and hands-on support to staff in using multimedia software and marketing techniques to enhance the school's
visibility and reach. Liaise with the Department of Education and Training, external service providers, and partner schools to ensure
alignment with policies to enhance the school's branding and public image.
Context statement
The Northern Territory School of Distance Education (NTSDE) supports and delivers a range of educational services to students, resident
in the Northern Territory or temporarily living interstate or overseas. NTSDE collaborates with home schools, supporting educators to
deliver high quality, innovative and flexible senior secondary online programs. School staff must be prepared to travel, use advanced
online technologies, and work in both online and face-to-face modes.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop and deliver high-quality promotional multimedia materials, publications, and operational resources—such as graduation
content, school visit videos, and newsletters — ensuring brand consistency and clear, effective communication across all platforms.
2. Travel to remote school locations to capture content using professional filming equipment to edit and produce high quality videos for
use in promoting the school across websites, foyer screens, and various social media platforms.
1. Provide leadership in managing a small team and guiding staff in the effective use of multimedia platforms, supported by clear policies
and procedures to ensure high-quality content delivery.
1. Collaborate with staff to enhance their skills in promotional strategies, marketing techniques, and the effective use of digital tools to
support school-wide communication and engagement across the school community.
5. Liaise with the Department of Education and Training, external service providers, and partner schools to ensure alignment with policies
to enhance the school's branding and public image.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven broad knowledge in all aspects of multimedia and marketing, including video production, graphic design, website maintenance,
and desktop publishing.
2. Proven ability to operate professional cameras and utilise advanced photo and video editing software to create promotional content
that effectively showcases the school. Willing to travel regularly to remote school locations and fly in small aircraft as required to
capture and produce high-quality content.
1. Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills in a rapidly developing virtual learning technology environment.
2. Highly developed time management and organisational skills and proven ability to successfully lead and manage small project teams
and interact effectively with all stakeholders.
5. High-level oral and written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality content that ensures consistency in branding
and clear communication across all platforms.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in multimedia, graphic design or marketing.
