Registered Nurse - Surgical Ward
Hervey Bay Surgical Hospital is a small Private Hospital specializing in elective surgery in orthopaedic, general, urology and ophthalmic surgery, and endoscopy procedures. We have two operating theatres and an endoscopic procedure room, day surgery PCAU unit, along with an 8 bed in-patient surgical ward opened 5-7 days a week.

About the role
As the Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing safe, compassionate patient centred care through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
We require Registered nurses for day, evening and night duty shifts over 7 days on our 8 bed surgical ward.
Nurse : Patient ratio 1:4
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients.
* Within scope of practice, implements planned evidence-based nursing interventions.
* Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures.
* Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups.
* Participates in pre-admission clinics
* Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices.
* Participate in performance review and activities.
* Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines.
* Ensure confidentiality of corporate and patient information.
* Participate in Quality Assurance activities with support provided.
Successful applications will need to possess:
* Current registration with AHPRA with no restrictions
* Vaccination against preventable diseases -Hepatitis B, MMR, Pertussis and Varicella (evidence required).
* COVID -19 vaccination not a requirement.
* Previous surgical experience will be highly regarded
* Time management skills as well as high level written and verbal communication skills,
* Strong attention to detail,
* Full rights to work in Australia
