About the Role
As Grounds Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the park's grounds, enclosures, public spaces, and facilities are maintained to a high standard.
This is a hands-on position involving groundskeeping, gardening, minor repairs, and proactive maintenance to support the daily operations of our busy Wildlife Park.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain lawns, gardens, landscaped areas, pathways, and visitor spaces to a clean, safe, and high standard.
Operate and maintain groundskeeping tools, machinery, and vehicles, including reporting faults and completing JSAs.
Remove waste and recycling from public and behind-the-scenes areas, and respond to weather-related clean-up such as storm debris.
Support the upkeep of animal enclosures and surrounds, including assisting with approved feeding and watering tasks when required.
Assist with event and seasonal set-up and pack-down.
Collaborate with keepers, maintenance staff, volunteers, and contractors.
About You
Trade Certificate or Certificate III in Horticulture.
Certificate in Chainsaw Operation or equivalent qualification.
Completion of AusChem WA Risk Management in Pesticide Use or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Sound level of physical health and fitness, with the ability to undertake manual outdoor duties in varying conditions.
Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
