This position sits within the healthcare sector and provides support across financial governance and performance for a diverse regional portfolio. As part of a team dedicated to strengthening service delivery for remote and regional communities, you will contribute to meaningful financial outcomes within a large and complex environment.
Your new role
As the Management Accountant: Projects & Assets, you will play an important role in providing high quality management accounting support. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will deliver advanced financial analysis, budgeting assistance, and performance reporting for project and asset-related portfolios. The role involves funding analysis, forecasting, financial modelling, monthly reporting, and developing strong relationships with operational and executive stakeholders. You will also contribute to budget build activities, support funding adjustments, ensure sound financial governance, and assist with ongoing improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis across projects and assets
- Developing and maintaining financial models
- Preparing monthly financial reports and commentary
- Investigating variances and providing insights for decision making
- Assisting with financial obligations under service agreements
- Providing technical financial support to operational teams
- Analysing financial and non-financial performance indicators
- Contributing to financial governance and compliance activities
- Building strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, we are looking for candidates with a solid understanding of management accounting, including budgeting, end‑of‑month processes, and financial performance analysis. You will be able to quickly learn state budget processes and project accounting requirements and have strong Excel skills, including experience building financial models. You will also be confident in solving problems, managing competing priorities, and working effectively in a busy environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships across different teams are essential.
For this position, we are seeking someone with experience using SAP or another large ERP platform. You will hold relevant accounting qualifications (CPA/CA desirable) and have experience working within large, complex organisations. Experience within the health sector will be highly regarded.
