An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated HR / Safety Officer to join our Human Resources Team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with Administration Experience who is wanting to gain exposure to all aspects of Health & Safety within our growing business and in turn, build your skillset and gain further experience within Health & Safety.
About the role
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role will:
* Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the company.
* Maintain and update the Safety Management System to ensure compliance with legislation.
* Support management to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
* Review and update safety policies, procedures and plans.
* Undertake workplace inspections and site audits (in line with the internal audit schedule), and follow-up of action items. Assist as required to close out actions.
* Coordinate Workers Compensation processes and work with Return-to-Work Coordinators to manage and resolve cases.
* Prepare and submit safety reports to management.
* Manage hazard and incident reporting and implement prevention measures.
* Participate in incident investigations and develop corrective action plans. Assist as required to close out actions.
* Manage safety registers and legislative requirements.

* You are someone who is wanting to start their career in the safety field.
* Passionate about WHS and the safety of all in the workplace.
* Experience in a similar role in a similar industry (desirable).
* WHS legislative requirements knowledge (desirable)
* Must be willing and able to travel across the Shoalhaven to different dealership locations as required.
* Motivated, positive and able to assist in driving WHS improvements.
* Excellent time management, organisational and administration skills.
* Enjoy multi-tasking and able to adapt to the needs of a thriving business.
* Ability to build relationships and partner with managers and employees.
* Ability to exercise tact, discretion and maintain confidentiality.
* A desire to continually develop own expertise and maintain current knowledge of health, safety and wellbeing developments, legislation and practice.
* Presentation skills and the confidence to deliver effective and engaging training to both new and existing employees.
* Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
